Excerpt

As she sat on a park bench in the middle of Central Park, she couldn’t get over how beautiful and peaceful it was. The trees may have long ago lost their leaves and the grass may have looked almost dead due to the winter air, but Mother Nature was beautiful. Isla couldn’t help but feel blessed to be able to once again sit in the middle of it, rather than watch from a closed window. Looking at the picture-perfect view in front of her, Isla couldn’t believe she was in the centre of the most famous city in the world.

Although it was so cold, Isla couldn’t help but think how nice it was to be able to sit outside and feel the harsh wind against her cheek, breathe in the cold air, and just be able to be normal, even for just a little while.

Couples were walking hand in hand, children were screaming and running around and people just looked happy to enjoy the day. She’d always loved to be able to people-watch. People passed her by and it made her wonder what people would see if they stopped to notice her. Would they see the tears she had shed? Would they notice the finger marks around her neck. What would they see? Was it written all over her face that she was in hell, that she needed help?

Excerpt:

"I'm capable of taking care of myself, you know!"
He smirked at me looking amused. "Sweetheart, I've seen you in action so that's not up for debate, but no fucker is gonna put his hands on you like that when I'm around."
I lifted my chin at him in defiance. "What's it gotta do with you?" I sounded like a petulant teenager, but he just grinned at me, his arrogance riling me up further. "We'll see"
He pushed me back toward the table before addressing Christian and Maddie, "I'm gonna take her home." He indicated at me with a jerk of his head and I exploded, my temper finally getting its release after the arsehole on the dancefloor.
"Excuse me! I'm right here! I'll go home when I damn well please, not when you say, who the bloody hell do you think you are!" He grinned at me and rolled his eyes, infuriating me almost to the point of combustion.
Maddie pulled herself upright into a sitting position, trying to extricate herself from Christian’s grasp. "We're going now too. C'mon Lee I'll come as well" Maddie tried to pacify me but Nate shook his head.
"You guys stay, or go together. Whatever," He shrugged. "I'm taking Lena"
Maddie’s eyes flicked to me uncertainly as I looked at him stunned, trying to think of a response more eloquent than “Fuck off!”
Maddie started to speak, but Christian whispered in her ear just as Nate cut her off. "It's not a request. I'll have her text you"
His playfulness from earlier had been replaced by a cool confident authority. I gaped at him as he spoke to her. As he turned back to me I met him with a face like thunder, which caused a huge grin to break across his face again.
I glanced back at Maddie for help, expecting her to be outraged at Nate's behaviour but she was smirking at me, looking somewhat impressed with him. Trust her to be taken in with the caveman behaviour.
I felt like stamping my foot and shouting. This is not how I was used to being treated. This was not how I allowed myself to be treated. I was a grown woman of nearly 25; I did what I wanted when I wanted. I was practically running a company for God’s sake.
As if sensing my newfound resolve Nate cocked an eyebrow at me a small smile playing on his lips as he leaned in "Don't make me throw you over my shoulders Princess. There are a number of ways you can make your exit but you should know every one of them involves me" He winked at me looking relaxed, an arrogant smirk on his face. I scowled back but allowed him to lead me from the bar.
The cold night air hit me and I realised how unsteady on my feet I felt.
He was beside me in an instant. "If I'd have known I'd be taking you home I'd have brought a jacket" He said with a smile as he gently rubbed my arms before wrapping his own around me in a warm embrace.
I stood tucked inside his arms, my back pressed close to his chest while we waited for a taxi. "If I'd known you'd be taking me home I'd have stayed in," I quipped back and he laughed, a deep rumbling sound that had me grinning in spite of myself.

About the author:

Muriel Garcia was born and raised in Belgium. She started writing a little over a year ago and never thought she would ever publish; reading and writing weren’t her favorite things to do in high school.

After one of her friends gave her  a challenge – the next time they would attend a book signing, she would be a signing author (it did happen!) – she started to take writing a lot more seriously and never looked back. She’s enjoyed every second of it and the friends she’s made along the way.

She loves music, tattoos—especially on hot men, traveling, and cooking. She has always had an overly imaginative and creative mind but never thought of putting words to paper. Now she couldn’t imagine not writing stories that are near and dear to her heart.

Excerpt

I stand, pulling her with me, lifting her into the bridal position. Her right arm snakes around my neck, her other hand on my heart. The rain falling around us is getting heavier, but I don’t hear the rain anymore. All I can hear is my heartbeat thumping in my ears, like it always does when she’s this close to me.
“We need to get in and dry before we both catch our deaths.” I walk up the steps then cringe as I realize what I’ve said. She’s still crying but not as hard as she was. “I didn’t mean…” I begin.
She’s cried herself to sleep. The only noises coming from her as I walk up the stairs are little sobs now and again.
I kick the door open and lay her on her bed. Looking down at her, I debate whether or not to take her clothes off. I should really take her wet clothes off, but I think that would be inappropriate, so I get an extra thick blanket from the closet and place it over her. As I turn to leave, she whispers in her sleep something that stops me midstride. “Stay.”
I sit down beside her and she drapes her arm across my torso. I tense for a second but relax after a beat. I wait until she’s fully asleep before I leave. I didn’t want to wake her by moving her arm off, and if I’m honest, I kind of liked it there. It felt right.
I fall onto my bed after taking a hot shower. I stare at the wall opposite my bed, at the painting Sup and I painted a few years back. It’s the club’s emblem, a woman holding a dagger, with wings, in only a bra and panties. It’s the eyes I always stare at. Blue. I remember Sup being confused about why I had to have them blue. Much like my tattoo. I still have an obsession with blue eyes. The thing is, I’ve no idea why. Why blue eyes?

Excerpt
Jack~ Every part of my body throbs with an aching pain. It hurts so much that I can’t sleep. I don’t dare put on any of the clothes Master and Mistress Ryland brought earlier in the evening, it will hurt my raw skin too much. Sophia managed to put on a light dress. She’s currently sitting on the side of the bed, staring at me. She tilts her head, thinking hard on something. Growing up with Sophia, I know everything about her. I know she’s lost much more of herself over the years than I have, and that’s saying a lot, seeing as there’s nothing left of me. I wait, knowing she’s about to speak her mind. She brings her feet up onto the mattress and folds her arms around her shins, resting her chin on her knees. She keeps her eyes on something outside the window, when she says, “It feels different here. Master and Mistress Ryland seem nice.” She looks at me and smiles. I don’t know how she manages to smile. I just want to die! “I think we’ll be happy here.” I turn my back to her and grumble, “In order to be happy I actually have to care about life.” I’m done caring. I cared about David and those feeling were used to control me. Caring for someone only makes you vulnerable. I’ll never place myself in such a position again. I hear someone come into the room and I don’t even bother to see who it is. Something is placed on the table between the two beds and then a soft voice says, “What’s this I hear of you wasting my soup, Son.” I glance over my shoulder, but the movement only causes me pain. I watch as an elderly lady pulls a chair closer to the bed I’m on. “My mama always said; waste not, want not,” she goes on talking. Her eyes are a vibrant blue and her hair grey with a purple tinge to it. “Now I’ve brought you another bowl of soup and you’ll eat every last drop. I’ve also brought you some pills for the pain.” The painkillers get my attention. I struggle into a sitting position, my eyes never leaving the woman. Trust no one and expect anything. “I’m Miss Ella and that’s what you’ll call me. Don’t even try to call me Miss E, I’m nobody’s missy. My mama gave me the name Ella and I expect you to use it.” She scoops a bit of soup up and then blows on the broth before she brings it to my lips. The action reminds me of Momma. She used to do that too, so I wouldn’t burn my mouth. I take a few bites before Miss Ella asks, “What’s your name, Son?” I don’t answer her. I don’t want to be here and I don’t want to get friendly with anyone. Sophia clears her throat, “His name is Jack.” Miss Ella smiles at Sophia. “Thank you, dear, and you are?” “I’m Sophia.” Miss Ella feeds me until the bowl is empty and my stomach full. I want to cry with relief when she places the painkillers in my mouth. I quickly swallow them down with some water. “My room is the one right by the stairs. If the pain gets to be too much come wake me.” She gathers the dishes and then gives me and Sophia each a pointed look. “You need to eat all your food so your bodies can heal. There’s a lot of work to be done. Everyone works here to earn their keep.” An icy ripple spreads down my spine. Miss Ella looks at Sophia. “As soon as you’re up to it you can help me in the kitchen.” And then she looks at me. “River says you’ve been born with a green thumb. That’s a good thing because no one around here likes to garden, and I’m too old to be playing with flowers. We can do with some color around here, so as soon as you’re better you can fix the gardens up nicely.” She looks pleased with herself. “Now get a good night’s rest and I’ll see you in the morning.” I can go on gardening here? Miss Ella said nothing about sex. Come to think of it neither did Mistress and Master Ryland. That doesn’t mean anything! As soon as we’re better they’ll put us to work. After all, Miss Ella said we have to earn our keep.

Dreams spilled onto pages, and that was the beginning of a wonderful journey. One filled with joy. One filled with passion and heart stopping moments. But most of all, it's filled with such pride and peace as a story comes to life, and characters fill your life, living in the very walls of your mind, living in the minds of your readers. RELEASE BLITZ - Money Shot by Scott Hildreth

Title: Money Shot
Author: Scott Hildreth
Release Date: November 23, 2015
Series: Selected Sinners MC, Book 6
Cover Designer: Jessica Hildreth

If someone would have told me there was a fully patched member of a one percent Motorcycle Club that read romance novels and was a true romantic, I wouldn’t have believed them, but one sure existed.

I met him by chance one night when he ran out of gas and rang my doorbell.

Covered in tattoos and muscles, he stood on my porch asking for a favor. He was a Selected Sinner, a debt collector for drug dealers, a criminal, a thug, and loved to fight. He was quick to draw his knife and quicker to pull his gun. His temper was short, his beard was long, and he was as handsome as any man I had ever seen.

To hear him talk about the lost art of love made my legs go weak. I was sure he was a phony, a wannabe, a fake, and a player.

So I stuck around for a while to see if he was exactly who he said he was.

And he took me for the ride of my life.

I’m Sienna, and I review romance novels. This is the story of when I met the man who most women would describe as a unicorn.

I just called him Vince.
